Emergency Preparedness

A reminder: Hurricane season in Hawaiʻi begins on June 1 and runs through November 30.

Significantly,  the Hawaiʻi Emergency Management Agency has increased its self-sufficiency recommendation from 3-5 days worth of provisions to 7-14 days in emergency kits. This means that all residents and guests should be advised to be prepared to camp out in their units for 7 to 14 days with all of their water, food, sanitization and medication needs taken care of for this period.

Remember, all owners are responsible for their guests. If you have not already done so, please verify that your unit has the blue Maui County Disaster preparedness guide, and a copy of the storm preparedness checklist. In the event of a guest occupancy during a period when an anticipated storm track may impact Hawai’i, ensure that they are informed of the location of these materials, take preparedness measures and stay current with all weather information.
